Macro Bugs

I started taking macro shots this summer with a decent starter 1x lens and flash. I still have a lot of technique to work on, but having bugs in the backyard is a good palce to start.

This little guy moves so fast that he was faster than the mirror on the DSLR, or maybe it was the flash, but I have more photos of it like that below than I do of it still above. I will have to start adapting to the R6 to try some silent shooting to see if its the flash, or mirror, that is triggering them to move so fucking fast.

Something else I learned was that I'm very spoiled with the autofocus with the Canon R6. This woodpecker joined us in the yard but I wasn't able to get a sharp shot with the 60D. 100% user error.

The 100mm lens wasn't helping, but I'm sure that I was taking better bird photos a few years ago with the same camera.
