The first big Snow of 2024

Every year I think that we are going to be better, and every year I'm disappointed. See, there was a major snow storm this weekend, but you wouldn't know it if you drive, only if you walk. The roads are clear, but the sidewalks are a disaster.
Not only that, but the snowplows don't care if they push all the snow into the drains, and that there are massive puddles on every corner, the cars will get to their cleared parking lots no problem.
I had to go to the post office, and instead of driving I figured I would walk. I mean, the road was clear, and it was a mistake. While I was out I helped on lady over a massive puddle, lifted another's groceries over a "berm". She said that she will just take the road from here. When I was in the residential part of the walk I saw way more people than cars, and of the cars that I did see, every one was single occupied and 2 were plows going to the next parking lot.
I will mention it again when the councellors are out campaigning for votes, but nothing will be done. More money will go to trucks on the road, and maybe one of those sidewalk machines that leave ice behind everywhere they go.
