Cinnamon Rolls from the Bently Cookbook

I love cinnamon rolls, but for the life of me I can't find a recipe that I really like. This was good, but it wasn't it.
This is a recipe from a cookbook that Jess grew up with, that she found the latest editions and ordered a copy.

She calls it the Bently Cookbook, but I don't know why (I should probably ask her).
The recipe
The recipe by Mrs. C. R. B. Wiseman (Those initials are probably her husbands) is pretty simple. I had to make a couple of changes though. I didn't have raisins and I never have shortening, I used butter instead.

They are pretty good. I made some technical errors including rolling it out too thin and crowding them in the pans.
With them rolled out that thin there wasn't enough sugar/cinnamon for the filling. And by crowding them in the pans they started to grow up in the middle. That makes them a bit browner on top and not as attactive.
Overall they are good, but not what I'm looking for. I will continue to document my journey for my favorite cinnamon roll recipe.
